Call of Duty 3 - Xbox 360 by ~reviewers:iconreviewers:

[One thing to note]
Hey, I’m CJ (FramedThief). I’ve just joined the reviewers team to review Xbox 360 games. I’d like to thank setstage for the opportunity, and with that, I’ll get to the game!

[Overview]
So, I’m sure if you have an Xbox/Xbox 360, you’re familiar with the Call of Duty series. Does this installment keep with the hype that the media gives it? Well, I’m here to answer that for you. First off, with the 360 version, the Achievement system synchs up greatly with the gameplay. There are easy achievements, worth about 10-15G each, then there are a few insane ones ranging from 100-125G. With this, you don’t have to be a hardcore CoD or FPS player to get achievements. The game is a little short, only 14 missions. The storyline is based around the liberation of France in World War II. Throughout the missions, you play as the British, Americans, Canadians, and the Polish.

[Gameplay]
Onto the heart and soul of the game, the gameplay itself. What an experience the first time I picked up the controller and started playing! The game itself is fast-paced and lets you feel like you’re really in the battles. Also, with the option of turning the cross-hairs on or off, you can make it more realistic. (Myself, I like to keep them off. :D) The AI in the game is amazingly realistic. If you ever get a chance to stop shooting like a madman and watch the Germans’ lines, do it. They work as a real team would, and can flank and rush your lines before you even knew what hit you.

[Achievements]
A new section here in reviewers, limited to only Xbox 360 Games. Here, I’ll explain the biggest and best achievements in the game, and how much they’re worth. Most of the time, I’ll post what I think should be the top 5, but I may do more or less, depending on the game.
1. Close-Quarter Combatant – 100G: Successfully complete a mission without firing a round from your weapon.
2. Hot Potato – 30G: Return 5 live grenades in one mission to their owners.
3. Grizzled Veteran – 125G: Complete the game on ‘Veteran’ difficulty.
4. Rifleman – 15G: Complete a mission using only bolt-action rifles.
5. Assault Gunner – 15G: Complete a mission using only assault rifles.

[Game Highlight]
This is where I'll pick any part of the game which I believe was the coolest. It could be a cutscene, an achievement, or just a level of play itself. And for Call of Duty 3, the game highlight is the achievement 'Close-Quarter Combatant'! If you're a good enough player to make it through one of these long levels without firing a shot from your weapon, especially one of the later ones, you deserve to be praised. This achievement means you can only use grenades and melee attacks in a level. I myself did this on the 11th level, and probably got killed about 15 times before I finally beat it. :D

[Online]
N/A until I get my Xbox Live Gold back. Sorry for the inconvienence.

[Ratings]
Replay value: Moderately high. (You’ll be playing this game every now and then for a while.)
Music: 9/10. Great job by the team here to have music that really inspires the gameplay. And no, it’s not just action-packed music, either. Depending on the situation the music will chance to suit it.
Extras:8/10. Not too much extra stuff here in this game. Just an overview of Allies/Axis Weapons and Vehicles and the ability to view cut scenes again.
Enjoyment: 9.5/10.
In-Game Graphics: 8.5/10. There are a few physics problems in the game, that were probably passed up due to demand for the game. Namely, rocks floating through the air, and things like that.
Cutscene Graphics: 10/10.

Overall Score: 9.5/10

If you get a chance, play this game, or buy it.

Peace.
